Character Kids is seeking Teaching Artists for the 2024/2025 school year! Character Kids offers after school theater classes at elementary schools throughout the Milwaukee area. This is a great supplemental job for working actors and/or college students!
Scheduling is flexible, but candidates should be available at least one weekday afternoon and have a reliable mode of transportation. Classes are one hour long, take place at our partner elementary schools and each session meets once per week for 10-11 weeks. Pay is $40/class.

Character Kids is seeking Teaching Artists for the 2024/2025 school year! Character Kids offers after school theater classes at local elementary schools throughout Minneapolis and St Paul’s suburbs. This is a great supplemental job for working actors and/or college students!
Scheduling is flexible, but candidates should be available at least one weekday afternoon and have a reliable mode of transportation. Classes are one hour long, take place at our partner elementary schools and each session meets once per week for 10-11 weeks. Pay is $40/class.
We offer classes in Shakopee, Hopkins, Richfield, Bloomington, Mounds View, St Anthony, Roseville, St Paul, and Cottage Grove. Classes are offered Monday through Thursday, with class times as early as 2pm and go until as late as 7:30 pm (majority of classes are between 3 and 5 pm). We are seeking teachers with any availability during these times!

Character Kids is seeking a dynamic and creative Marketing Coordinator to join our team. This flexible, part-time, contracted position will play a pivotal role in expanding our program's reach, growing our following across multiple platforms, increasing engagement, and driving sales of our classes and camps, as well as the Character Kids book and related products.
Responsibilities:
Social Media Expansion: Develop and implement strategies to enhance our social media presence across platforms by creating engaging content, running campaigns, and fostering community interaction. Create graphics for posts and stories. Current platforms include Facebook, Instagram & YouTube, with plans to expand to TikTok.
E-Newsletters: Curate compelling bi-weekly content and design visually appealing newsletters to inform parents, teachers and other stakeholders about program updates, events, offers and achievements.
Blog Cultivation: Work with the CEO to help generate captivating blog content related to our after school program, children's theater, arts education, and related topics to engage our audience and drive traffic to our website.
Traffic Generation: Employ SEO techniques, online advertising, and partnerships to increase website traffic, optimizing visibility and engagement.
Help Cultivate & Manage Secondary Audience: With the recent publication of the Character Kids Book, the Marketing Coordinator will devise and execute marketing strategies specifically geared toward boosting sales of the book and related products, including promotional campaigns, collaborations, and targeted outreach to teachers and theater educators.
Analytics & Tracking: Study our numbers monthly and come up with strategies to improve our performance.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in social media and marketing strategy. Though not required, experience in, or knowledge of, industries related to children's education, arts and/or entertainment is a plus.
Strong communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences.
Proficiency in social media management tools, newsletter platforms, paid social advertising campaigns and content creation software. Extensive experience with Facebook, Instagram, TikTok & YouTube
Knowledge of SEO principles and digital marketing strategies.
Experience using social media monitoring tools
Creativity and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience with Canva and MailChimp (or equivalent programs)
Though not required, let us know if you have any AI technology experience, photography or videography skills, or photoshop experience
Additional Information:
This is a part-time contracted position with flexibility in scheduling (amount of hours to be mutually determined) .
The Marketing Coordinator will work remotely and needs a reliable internet connection, as well as a reliable and distraction-free work environment
Proximity to Milwaukee is a plus, but not required
Compensation will be based on experience and agreed-upon terms outlined in the contract.
